ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Michigan guard Eso Akunne has been declared academically ineligible for the winter semester.
Wolverines coach John Beilein announced before Sunday's game against Northwestern that Akunne can practice, but can't play for the rest of the semester.
The freshman had five points and six rebounds in seven games as a reserve. He played 17 minutes against Utah and scored three points, both season highs.
