White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said Sunday morning that no decision has been made on whether Jim Thome will return.
"Whatever decision we make will be the best for the ballclub," Guillen told a crowd during SoxFest at the Palmer House.
Guillen emphasized the Sox's decision would be made with their brains, rather than their heart. General manager Ken Williams made it clear Saturday that he was leaving it to Guillen to decide whether Thome would be a good fit for the 2010 Sox team.
Guillen, who has said he wants to decide before he leaves town, added that his flight to Miami was moved from 4 p.m. Sunday to Monday.

I doubt Jones even makes it out of spring training. Visquel should have been signed as a coach not a player and Kotsay should be used as insurance. Give Thome the DH spot and teach him to situationaly hit to opposite field.
Come on Terry, using relevant stats while discussing baseball with Chicago fans? That's never gonna fly. Use stats that were used to judge players in the 70's, batting average, rbi, and wins like Steve Stone does. Steve has so much success in running a ball club.
And you never have to worry about bases being clogged with the dynamic Kotsay/Jones duo. 'Cause they ain't getting on.
Who wants those stupid, getting on base a lot, base clogger guys when you can have Pierre, the awful Alex Rios, and the Kotsay/Jones combo? At least the games will be quick.
Why do people say silly things?
A. As someone pointed out using BA is goofy. Thome OPSed .864 last year, only tops on the team.
B. Thome's OPS in high leverage situtions last year (something you would call clutch) was .945!
C. Yes many baseball folks make stupid decisions all the time. So mass stupidity is not proof of anything.
I love Jim Thome..the man. Hes a quality guy who does great things off the field.
Unfortunately, hes just no longer a fit for this club. If the Sox sign him, they will likely have one less pitcher on the club. Yes, Big Jim occasionally hits a big home run but more often he grounds out to the second baseman in short right field...or hits into a DP in a key situation. When he does draw a walk, it takes 3 doubles to get him home.
Im not against adding some power to the club...its needed..but Im just not sure that Thome is the answer anymore.
Using batting average to judge an offensive player is only done by the brainless.
If he uses his brain he will bring Jim back because if he lets him go to the Twins it could hurt us in the fall!
