SAN JOSE, Calif. -- After an explosive first period, the second settled down as the Sharks crept closer to the Blackhawks on Thursday night at HP Pavilion.
Joe Pavelski's second goal of the game late in the second has cut the Hawks' lead over San Jose to 3-2 after two periods.
Dustin Byfuglien, Troy Brouwer and Andrew Ladd scored in the first for the Hawks while Pavelski tallied for San Jose.
