BOSTON -- With as well as the Blackhawks have played of late, it's almost shocking when they don't play well.

During their game against Original Six opponent Boston on Thursday night, not much went the Hawks' way early on but they rallied late in the first period and forged a 2-2 tie after one at TD Garden.

The Bruins controlled the play the first half of the opening period and after goals by Blake Wheeler and Miroslav Satan led 2-0 and the Hawks were on their heels.

Duncan Keith helped right the ship a bit with his seventh goal of the season with just over seven minutes remaining in the first. The defenseman fired a shot from just inside the blue line that evaded Bruins goaltender Tim Thomas.

Tomas Kopecky tied it at 2-2 with just under two minutes remaining in the period when he took a pass from Colin Fraser and sent a one-timer past Thomas from the slot.

Bruins center Marc Savard left the game during the first minute after a check from Jonathan Toews and will not return.
