The Bears' next target in the offensive-coordinator search is Vikings quarterbacks coach Kevin Rogers.
The team requested permission to interview Rogers and is awaiting a decision from the Vikings, a source with knowledge of the situation said. Rogers is believed to have one more year on his contract, and the Vikings can prevent him from interviewing with their rivals if they choose.
Rogers is the second candidate the Bears have targeted from an NFC North rival. They also tried to interview Packers quarterbacks coach Tom Clements, but the Packers refused to grant him permission to talk to the Bears.

Rogers was the offensive coordinator at Notre Dame from 1999-2001 under
Bob Davie, so he has experience as a play-caller and coordinator.
Rogers drew attention for his work with Brett Favre this year -- a quarterback to whom Jay Cutler has been compared. Favre arguably had the best season of his 19-year career. Previously, Rogers also was praised for his development of Tarvaris Jackson and his work with Gus Frerotte.
Most of Rogers coaching experience -- 28 of his 35 years -- have been at the college level. He was the offensive coordinator at Syracuse when Donovan McNabb played there, and he subsequently got to know Vikings coach Brad Childress when Childress was scouting McNabb for the Eagles.

kevin rogers would be an excellent choice for the OC job. If anyone looks at his record he has improved evey QB he has worked with. I just dont get why some think he isnt a viable option. Read his coaching history there is alot there
The bears should sign Ron Turner!
The bears should sign Ron Turner!
So is the guy who did wonders for Tavaris Jackson and the Stupendous Sage Rosenfelzzzzzzzzz?
He has Favre one year and he's the best guy for the job? This is ridiculous, another failure of the Angelo.
Whooooooooooooopie!
The Bears could get Kenny Rogers to be the OC and they would still get roasted with this staff and group of players
Nobody wants to play under lame duck coach lovie smith. end of story. I hope they 0-16 next year so we can do away with lame love.
vikes will deny...I'll bet my house on it
Wow bottom of the barrel. Jackson and Frerotte really developed under this guy. Or will the bears say he took up some old washed up QB in Favre and made him into a great player. The Bears once again fishing in their own divison. Teams don't like that. Hab Arkush was just talking about how the Bears after their press confrence are being talked about as the laughing stock of the NFL. Those people waiting for Clyde Christensen from the Colts don't hold your breath on him either. He is already considered the OC of the Colts as Moore is 72 and set too retire after this Super Bowl. No chance he will leave the Colts OC job for the Bears.
