Noah likely out for banged-up Bulls vs. Spurs

SAN ANTONIO -- A downbeat Joakim Noah said he'd test the plantar fasciitis in his left foot before Monday's game against the Spurs, but all signs point to the third-year center missing his second straight game.

And the news gets worse for the Bulls, who also have Taj Gibson still battling plantar fasciitis in his right foot and new developments in a sore knee for Brad Miller and Derrick Rose suffering from the flu and head cold that plagued the team earlier in the trip.

"Our body count is a little low," coach Vinny Del Negro said. "But it's part of the deal."

Rose and Noah participated in limited portions of Monday's morning shootaround at the AT&T Center. Those two and Miller are gametime decisions, although a good guess would be that Rose and Miller will play and Noah won't.

"I'm not great," Noah said. "I'm just not moving right. It's frustrating because I've had it for awhile but it just got worse. Coach Del Negro had somebody come and check out our feet (Sunday) and he gave us a real deep tissue massage. I'm trying to go but I'm limited. I can't move the way I want to."

Like Gibson, Noah said he's sleeping with a protective boot to try to cure the condition.

"I'm going to try every day until it gets better," Noah said. "I'm going to take a pill, take a shot, do whatever I have to do to play. But I took the shot last game and it didn't help at all. There's no point in trying to go when you know deep inside you're only hurting the team. We have a lot of depth on this team."

Maybe not Monday.
