With Reed out, Zbikowski gets call for Ravens

Former Notre Dame and Buffalo Grove High School star Tom Zbikowski will start his fourth consecutive game at free safety for the Ravens today in an crucial AFC North clash against the Steelers.

Zbikowski takes the place of Ed Reed, the five-time Pro Bowler and former defensive player of the year who has been battling a groin injury.

Reed praised Zbikowski following the Ravens' 31-7 win over the Bears last weekend.

``He's done great, man,'' Reed said. ``He's taken advantage of the opportunities that have come to him.

``Zibby's been proven beforehand. I already told Coach that. He knows exactly what he's supposed to do, where he's supposed to be. And he's been playing all year. We always say that everybody on defense is a starter, so he's prepared that way all season. That's why we don't miss a beat.''
