INDIANAPOLIS -- White Sox amateur scout Alex Cosmidis will be honored Wednesday night at the 26th annual Scout of the Year reception.

Cosmidis has been a major-league scout since 1982 and has worked for the Sox since 1987. Among his signings with the Sox have been Roberto Hernandez, Ray Durham and James Baldwin.

Cosmidis, a former infielder, attended Illinois Wesleyan before signing with the Sox and playing in their minor league system.

Ray Durham was solid. Roberto Hernandez was a flame thrower with a medical condition who(I believe) was a rule 5 pick from the Angels. James Baldwin was a high ERA stiff.

These accomplishments got this guy recognized?
