White Sox GM: Milton Bradley not a bad person

INDIANAPOLIS -- During his afternoon briefing of Chicago media at the winter meeting today, White Sox general manager Ken Williams was asked whether he could see any way the Cubs' Milton Bradley would play for the Sox.

"The funny thing is I've had the pleasure of talking to Milton in the past," Williams said. "It saddens me, to a great extent, some of the situations he's been put in or put himself in. I'd like to see this guy just be able to go out there without all the distractions and do what he can do. This guy can play.
"I don't know that I see a fit for us and I probably shouldn't even be talking about him because he's not our player, but Milton Bradley can play. And it's just too bad, because he's really a more thoughtful person, a better person, than has been portrayed or he's shown or however it has manifested itself. It's too bad."

Williams rarely talks about other team's players and admitted he probably shouldn't be talking about a Cubs player.

"I don't like it when people get in our business and I certainly don't want to step over any lines. It's none of my business what transpires with that situation," he said.

I am sure that Mr. Hendry would gladly entertain any reasonable offer that Kenny Williams would be able to make to acquire Milton the Monster. Unfortunately, it seems that KW is failing to tender any such offer, so his banter is merely poliyics, and his avoidance of Bradley is exercise of common sense.

If Ken Williams thinks Bradley is such a good person, then the Sox should take him off the Cubs hands. Afterall, isn't the Holiday Season the time for miracles? Talk is cheap, isn't it?

to the previous anonymous poster: Do you really think anyone believes you're a Sox fan and not a cubs fan? 9000 Sox fans eh? Well at least 9000 of us in Chicago were able to celebrate a world championship within the last century! - Enjoy year 102 of impotent futility, Loser!

While it is protocol to not talk about other teams' players, my creepy obsession with all things Cubs, which I share with the rest of those in our organization and the 9,000 people in our fanbase, is simply too strong for me to follow protocol.

Well that and the fact that Bradley is considerably better AND cheaper than the god-awful Alex Rios.

As much as i have regaled the Cubs idiotic signing of Bradley and then watched in amusement as Milton has comically misplayed the field and as he imagined racial problems that really don`t exist in professional sports anymore, it would really be amusing to see the White Sox march to the playoffs with Bradley as LF/DH while the Cubs paid 90% of his salary. If the Sox can limit their exposure to $2 million per season...... do it.

I like the idea of Milton coming to the Sox and suggested it sometime ago. Think about it- he brings the kind of fire the Sox sorely need, he can lead off, has a high OBP, some speed, etc. OZ and KW will have to keep him in check, but this could be a steal depending on what the Sox GAVE up.
Let me be to first to welcome Milton to the Southside!!!
