BALTIMORE -- Dallas' upset win at New Orleans on Saturday means the Minnesota Vikings will have plenty to play for when they travel to Soldier Field on Dec. 28 for the Bears' final home game of the season.
The Bears will host their NFC North rivals on ESPN's "Monday Night Football" and the Vikings could be gunning for a shot at the No. 1 seed -- and home-field advantage -- in the NFC playoffs. Minnesota plays at Carolina tonight and a victory will put the Vikings just one game back of the Saints (13-1) in the conference.
Minnesota would win a tiebreaker over New Orleans by virtue of a better conference record. The Vikings (11-2) are 8-1 in the NFC. If they win out to finish 14-2, and the Saints lose one of their final two, New Orleans will finish with two losses in the NFC.
In the Saints' favor, they host Tampa Bay next Sunday and close out the regular season Jan. 3 at Carolina. They will be heavy favorites in both games, but they were nine-point favorites against the Cowboys.
Still, if the Vikings defeat the Panthers, they will have plenty on the line against the Bears as they watch for another Saints upset.
The Green Bay Packers can clinch a playoff spot if they win at Pittsburgh today and the Washington Redskins beat or tie the New York Giants on Monday night at FedEx Field.

and I COULD win the lottery tomorrow.
There is no way Chicago beats Minnesota next Monday night! The bears STINK! They can only beat bottom rung teams! Say bye bye to Lovie Smith and if the front office has any brains they'll offer Terell Owens a ton of money and get rid of the overratted Devin Hester, who by the way isn't hurt, it's called giving up! And I guess I can't blame him because his quarterback is terrible! That's right Cry Baby Jay, you suck!
wow....won't that make for an outstanding season. People will REALLY be impressed....
The trouble with referees is that they know the rules, but they do not know the game.
