The Washington Post reports: The Fire are interested in New York Red Bulls interim coach Richie Williams and are expected to speak with him soon.
Williams name is the second to surface after the Fire reportedly interviewed Real Salt Lake assistant Robin Fraser earlier this week. The club is in the market for a coach after firing Dennis Hamlett following the end of the season.
Williams played eight seasons in MLS for D.C. and New York, winning three championship rings in 216 games. He took over the Red Bulls in August after former Fire coach Juan Carlos Osorio resigned with New York last in MLS. The Red Bulls went 3-3-2 down the stretch under Williams.
