AmHiller2.jpgAnother big honor for Northwestern lacrosse coach Kelly Amonte Hiller, whose team has won five straight NCAA titles.

The U.S. Sports Academy has named Amonte Hiller as winner of its C. Vivian Stringer Coaching Award, given to "an individual who has experienced outstanding achievement as a coach for female teams."

Stringer has spent 38 years as the women's basketball coach at Cheyney State, Iowa and Rutgers.  She is the only coach to lead three different women's teams to the Final Four.
Amonte Hiller has been named women's lacrosse college coach of the year three times.

The 2009 national champions were Amonte Hiller's second unbeaten team in a five-year span when the Wildcats are 105-3.
