After the Bears' coaches reviewed the film, Jamar Williams' performance Sunday was even better than they initially thought.
The team credited Williams with a career-high 20 tackles in a 17-9 victory over the Rams, two more than the official statistics showed after the game. It's the most tackles by any Bears linebacker this season, including Pro Bowl veteran Lance Briggs, the guy Williams replaced.
"Jamar Williams really stepped up and played well,'' Lovie Smith said. " ... He really made plays: running game, passing game, and all."

Strong safety Kevin Payne and middle linebacker Hunter Hillenmeyer tied for second behind Williams with 10 tackles each.
Briggs, who missed the Rams game with a sprained knee and hip pointer, still leads the team with 108 tackles followed by Nick Roach with 71.
