Bears cornerback Charles Tillman, who was taken to the hospital during Monday night's 36-30 win over the Vikings, apparently fractured his ribs, according to a league source.
Tillman's status will be updated Tuesday afternoon when Lovie Smith addresses the media, but the injury could end Tillman's season. He absorbed a helmet blow to his right side from teammate Craig Steltz. The veteran was carried off the field on a stretcher.

Tight end Desmond Clark fractured a rib early in the season and missed two games. The Bears have one game left with Sunday's season finale at Detroit.
Tillman was one of four Bears to get knocked out of Monday night's game due to injury. Rookie receiver Johnny Knox, who was carted off the field, might have a serious left ankle injury, although the initial word is a severe sprain. Danieal Manning suffered a right calf strain, while Israel Idonije sprained his foot.

I think he punctured a lung too, they had him on oxygen when they were carting him off. Might have a chest tube in for a few days. ouch.
I hope you're ok Peanut! Thanks for a great year!
Lovie and his entire coaching staff are gone soon my friends, soon!
fire those fatties on the o line and fire lovie smith= bears win
Seven people have been killed by polar bears in Alaska? I'll have to keep that in mind Para Kori. Thanks
@Kevin - Yes, it is the staffs fault on some but not all the issues. For example, who signed Orlabdo Pace? The GM probably with the OK from the STAFF! Yes, Cutler's play has been awful but the STAFF put together the o-line which did not protect Jay Cutler 90% of the season! Look when they finally made a switch - the o-line protected the guy. Also, yes, the STAFF makes the play calls - everyone knows that Jay Cutler is better out of the pocket...also, when he has a 5 step drop...but the STAFF calls for 3-step drops and passes when Cutler DOES NOT roll out. YES, it is the STAFF fault for not drafting purely talented DEFENSIVE players that can play different types of Defenses. Yes, it is the STAFFs fault for not adjusting the defensive scheme...the Tampa-two has major holes when you don't get pressure on the QB and they did not adjust well. It is the STAFF's fault for not putting the players in better position. I agree that the player's need to be held accountable but don't give these coaches a pass. That is what they are PAID to do as well, COACH. Coach Jay Culter, COACH the defensive and offensive lines, COACH the D's. We can agrue back and forth on this subject but it is apparent that the coaches do not know how to adjust in game situations.
CUTLER LOOKS LIKE UNITAS WHEN HIS DAMN O-LINE DECIDES TO BLOCK FOR HIM...
In the last 30 years,
only seven people have been killed by a polar bear in Canada....

ds I love your post! I hope Mother McCaskey gives you a call.
Geesh guys.. back off the coaches.. blame the right fucking people.... Is it the staffs fault Orlando was burnt out? Was it the staffs fault for Jay Cutlers awful play 90% of the season? is it the Staffs fault the defensive side has been banged up all year and lost their heart? Is it the staffs fault the defense is doing poor tackles, poor hits? They haven't changed the way their defense plays.. it's the same shit as in 2006. if you're going to point fingers.. Point them in the right direction..point is these players get paid millions to play and they have a job to fulfill and they didn't. A coach can only do so much he can't go out on the field.
This is terrible for Tillman, but there's nothing else to play for. Get well soon for the next season Peanut!
I sure hope this one win, in cold weather, coming 15 games later, is not enough to keep Lovie and Co. Now, it seems everybody is thinking this game may have saved Lovie. Are you kidding? If all it takes to keep your job in the NFL is win one lousy game in the cold, I am applying for a head coaching job tomorrow!! Heck, I am sure I can get one win, in the cold, probably against Lovie and the bears!!!!
My prayers goes out to the Tillman family ...
Cold weather brings pain with it.
Get well soon guys.
You're going to have some new coaches to impress soon.
