Former Cubs catcher Jody Davis will manage the team's Class A team in Boise, Idaho, as part of the minor-league managerial and coaching staff lineup announced today.As previously reported, Ryne Sandberg will move up to manage Triple-A Iowa after leading Double-A Tennessee to the 2009 Southern League championship. Bill Dancy will replace Sandberg at Tennessee.
Davis, after serving one year as the Cubs' minor-league catching coordinator, takes over at Boise. Davis, who played for the Cubs from 1981-88, managed the Peoria Chiefs in 2006 and the Daytona Cubs in 2007 and '08. His pitching coach will be former Cubs left-hander Jeff Fassero.
