jodydavis.jpgFormer Cubs catcher Jody Davis will manage the team's Class A team in Boise, Idaho, as part of the minor-league managerial and coaching staff lineup announced today.

As previously reported, Ryne Sandberg will move up to manage Triple-A Iowa after leading Double-A Tennessee to the 2009 Southern League championship. Bill Dancy will replace Sandberg at Tennessee.

Davis, after serving one year as the Cubs' minor-league catching coordinator, takes over at Boise. Davis, who played for the Cubs from 1981-88, managed the Peoria Chiefs in 2006 and the Daytona Cubs in 2007 and '08. His pitching coach will be former Cubs left-hander Jeff Fassero.

Do you think he still remembers how to teach the little chillens to lose?

Good for Jody...but will he entice the young players with Twinkies (remember his commercial circa 1985)?
