Wired.com reports:Seven-foot former Bulls center Luc Longley won a contest to name a newly shrimp.jpgdiscovered species of shrimp that lives on the southwest coast of Australia.

After a graduate student discovered a previously unknown shrimp while working as an assistant on a research boat, she decided to auction the right to name the shrimp on eBay and donate the proceeds to the Australian Marine Conservation Society. Longley won with a bid of $2,900.

Longley, who had participated in marine conservation efforts before, named the shrimp Lebbeus clarehanna after his 15-year-old daughter, Clare Hanna Longley.

Everyone's favorite sports icon, Michael Jordan, you know the man who for some reason is believed to be a perfect gentleman by his adoring fans, threw a basketball off of Luc Longley's face during practice one time.

Luuuuc!

He always was cool.

The Tim Floyd playbook

should have named it BJ Armstrong

I would love it if just for an hour or so the Trib featured this as the lead story on the site. It would make many people's day, promise.
