At least one former Notre Dame assistant is deep into the process of finding a new home.
Corwin Brown, let go earlier this week by new Irish coach Brian Kelly, will interview with Buffalo today for its vacant head coaching position, a source close to Brown told the Tribune.
Brown served as defensive coordinator for Notre Dame in 2007 and 2008 before assuming a co-coordinator title and ceding defensive play-calling duties to Jon Tenuta in 2009. The Irish finished the '09 regular season with the nation's No. 87 defense; they ranked 39th nationally both in '07 and '08.
There may be a Michigan connection at work to get Brown into the mix at Buffalo: Both Buffalo athletic director Warde Manuel and Brown played football for the Wolverines, though Manuel's career predated Brown's.
