ESPN.com reports: Former Cuban national team pitcher Aroldis Chapman threw a bullpen session today in Houston for representatives from 15 major-league teams, including the Cubs. The 21-year-old left-hander threw mostly in the 92-93 mph range and topped out at 96 mph.
According to sources, Boston is the only team known to have made an offer (for $15.5 million) for Chapman, whose fastball was clocked at 102 mph at the World Baseball Classic this year. He defected from the Cuban national team in August during a tournament in the Netherlands.
