CLEVELAND -- Bulls coach Vinny Del Negro had expressed minor optimism that guard Kirk Hinrich could return from his sprained left thumb Saturday night against Toronto.
Hinrich killed that notion Friday.
"He probably said that because I was optimistic," Hinrich said. "I've been shooting and stuff every day. But I still can't handle the ball. Plus, if it gets hit, I'd be set back."
The Bulls play four games in five nights beginning next Tuesday. Hinrich said one of those games is a more realistic return date.
