Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports today that the Cubs are studying a deal that has been on the table for weeks: trading Bradley and cash to the Tampa Bay Rays for Pat Burrell, whom they would try to move elsewhere (perhaps to the Mets for Luis Castillo).
The Cubs don't seem to have a spot for the defensively challenged Burrell with Alfonso Soriano in left field.

Lee for Pujols, Fontenot for Utley, Therriot for Rollins, Ramirez can stay, Soriano for Hawpe, and Fukudome for Upton. Big 'Z' for Lincecum, Lilly for Lee and Dempster for Sabathia. No my friend they were talking about this off season not 2007.Upton is arbitration elgible and his salary will go up and keep going up.Rays cannot afford him.I read the article I dont care about the rumors and speculation.I'm saying try to get Bj upton regardless he is available just like granderson is.Cubs should try to get him he would fill 3 holes(left hand power,CF,speed).He also tore the red sox up in 2008 ALCS The kid can play.
They did say they were going to trade Crawford.....in 2007. As for Upton, if they do trade him I think they would want more than a headcase and two bench players in return.
And since you obviously didn't read the whole article, let me point out to you that Rogers says in the article that the Cubs would be picking up Burrell then turn around and trade him for something else. So basically he's saying it's a three-team deal with the Cubs, Rays, and possibly the Mets. The Cubs would have no intention of keeping Burrell and even if they did they would have no place to play him!
Trade bradley,jake fox and micah hoff pauer for upton.You get a left handed CF who has great D hits for power and has speed.It's really wishful thinking but anybody besides pat burrell.Its funny he's already on the trade block after playing in TB for 1 year and they signed him to a 2 year deal.Philly did not bring him back and he was on their WS team.Burrell sucks
I said Upton for bradley becuase they said upton or crawford were gonna get traded.Since TB resigned crawford that leaves upton,I'm just being hopeful because pat burrell SUCKS.Please dont get him I'd rather keep bradley as bad as that sounds.

Big B and motojones are not good examples of Chicago fans. It takes the emotional maturity of a third grader to base your entire post on how many times you can mention the "Flubs" or the "Sux". Every city has idiots like that. Let's dismiss them and concentrate on the fans who can go an entire post without using a stupid nickname for a team or a player.

Upton for Bradley? What types of medication do they have you on? B. J. Upton can run and field. But he does strike out 30 percent of the time. Maybe your right, he would be a perfect lead off man for the Flubs.
Pat burrell is actually a worse player than bradley.This would not help the cubs,at this point it's like they are desperate to get rid of him for anything/anybody who will take him.Try to get BJ upton not burrell.
Well if they can make this trade. The quicker the better. But it needs to be done quickly. If Hendry doesn't ship Burrell they will regret it. He can't play defense and strikes out more than Soriano.
If the Flubs really want to get serious, they move Bradley, acquire Castillo and sign Podsenik for three years.
Everyone that has any baseball sense knows that Podsednik is a better CF than Fckadummy...or any other jabronie the flubs field.
