Boomer Esiason joins the Cutler-bashing crowd

Staff report

Throw a flag on Boomer Esiason for a late hit. Ripping on Jay Cutler at this point is just piling on. But pile on he did.

The former NFL quarterback and current CBS analyst appeared today on "The Danny Mac Show"  on WSCR-AM 670 and laid into Cutler, bringing the unofficial tally of former quarterbacks to rip Cutler this season at three, joining Trent Dilfer and Fran Tarkenton.  (Troy Aikman was pretty diplomatic when discussing Cutler.)
Esiason, who led the Bengals to a Super Bowl XXIII appearance, wasn't only critical of Cutler. He also blamed the Bears' coaching staff, as well, saying Cutler has struggled without someone like former Broncos coach Mike Shanahan to keep him in line and compared him to the wildchild Brett Favre without Mike Holmgren.

"He's had a terrible year, his body language stinks, his decision making stinks," Esiason said. "... And he has nobody to blame really other than himself."

Jay,

Don't worry that you have always lost everywhere since high school. That it is always everyone fault but yours. You didn't win in Denver where you only made the Pro-bowl because 3 other QB's were hurt. That's isn't your fault. It isn't your fault when you under throw a wide out the other team catches it. It's the wideout(s) fault for being so wide open and running futher than you could throw it on that play. You were an interception machine in Denver that always hurt the Denver defense so they aren't much better without you they are a lot better without you. In a team sport you aren't the problem for being the weakest link in the chain at point the chain has to be the strongest. It is never your fault. Remember you have 30 million reasons you are right and only 20 that you are wrong.

Enjoy,

Bill

Wow "point on"...ouch you really got me....not. Since when is voicing one's opinion considered to be an idiot. You must have a pretty sad life.

It's funny how the people who were posting "ANGELO NEEDS TO TRADE FOR CUTLER RIGHT NOW OR BE FIRED" in March are now bitching about Angelo being stupid for getting him.

The one thing you have to understand about the media is its like a club, like the cool kids in high school. When one person starts dog piling then you have to too or you're not cool. That's the way the media works from politics to sports to weather. It takes someone with exceptional integrity to stop.

Cutler hasn't played well, but the first person to be called out has to be Orlando Pace. He has played miserably. He has looked bad from the first preseason game. If he had any pride he would retire, because all it seems like he is doing is collecting a paycheck. Look how Favre plays when he's harrassed just a bit. Now give him a turnstyle at left tackle and see how he plays.

Really Boomer? Feeling a little left out of the Hate Jay club? The boys not let you in? You of all people should know what it is like to be the QB of a sub-par team. You mean to tell me you could have done any better in his place? Please. You just wanted a piece of the bash-on-Jay pie.
As far as body language, what the heck are you talking about? Is he supposed to be happy jumping for joy when a play goes bad? I'd rather watch Jay than boring old Manning any day, mistakes and all.
Jay is a very talented young developing QB and if you all can't see that then oh well. You will be eating crow when the Bears develop into a great team with Cutler leading the way. Then I'm sure you'll want a piece of the-praise-Jay pie. Your like a bunch of fickle girls. Geesh.

Boomer Esiason...SPEAKING OF OVERRATED QB'S

To "Read On" and "Chicagoan" -- this guy was a ProBowl QB as a third year player last year. He was a first round pick, an up and coming QB but not in the elite level and never a polished QB certainly looking at his INT numbers.

He has struggled a ton this year. However, look at this offensive line. Pace is too old, Kreutz has been declining for years, Chris Williams has been a disappointment, Frank whatever was a waste of money. There's no semblence of a running game. Period. That's a QB's best friend. And his WR's are D. Hester, E. Bennett, and J. Knox, a combined 60 catches in the NFL before this year -- all from Hester, our #1. Many of those picks have been his fault. Some of those picks were also pass interference in front of an official with no calls (see SF game Kellon Davis) which are nonreviewable.

It is his fault to some degree. Of course, you two probably think Kyle is the next messiah. I think KO is a solid QB but certainly a full step below Cutler.

Lastly, body language is the most overrated stupidest thing I've ever heard of. What do you expect him to do after an INT, start smiling? Start laughing? Sprint off the field as fast possible and eat a hot dog? Check out LeBron James body language after losing to the Magic. Jeez.

Boomer,
what kind of name is that?

Jay Cutler does have bad body language. Big Deal. Deal with it if you're so hurt by it and you can't handle it.

Jay Cutler has stood in there, been hit under the chin so many times, Boomer, you'd be sitting down by now, but, not Jay, yeah, he whines, he has that pouty look, but, get real man, he ain't the problem in Chicago, he's the victim.

We finally get a QB, and everyone and his brother took the year off; like Angie Baby the players were hoodwinked into thinking Jay would be the "only" answer needed too.

And they do not care about things like player development, tackling in practices, game plans that differ from week to week, and a cohesive set of teammates all on the same page.

AINOKEA what you think BOOMER, you are loser if you can't see what the problem with the Bears is; and it certainly is not Jay's body language !!!!

Preach, Boomer!

I don't blame Jay Cutler. Bears have no offense, the whole coaching staff sucks, Angelo sucks, Philips sucks, Virgina sucks and defense sucks. Hire Mike Shanahan.
