Bears-Ravens game moved to 3:15 p.m.

| 18 Comments | UPDATED STORY

The Bears left early for Sunday's game against the Ravens and will start late because of the major snowstorm that was expected to hit Baltimore. Game time was moved from noon to 3:15 p.m.

The city is projected to get up to 20 inches of snow by Sunday morning so the Bears left O'Hare at 10:30 p.m. Friday. Typically, they depart about 24 hours before kickoff. City officials recommended the 3:15 p.m. start so snow removal equipment could be dedicated to clearing roads.

The game will be televised locally on Fox (WFLD-Ch. 32). The early noon local games are San Francisco at Philadelphia on Fox and Miami at Tennessee on CBS (WBBM-Ch. 2).

Pack RULES! on December 20, 2009 2:39 AM

Who cares about the Bears now, they're out of it! If FOX shows the Bears instead of the Packers, I'm boycotting them forever, and as a 48 year Pack Fan, I mean it!

Why bother showing up? Let the Bears forfeit. Same results, less embarrassment.

Bears Suck! in every way! now they even screw-up us watching the games we wanted to watch(like the packer game)
FOX take note!

the whole problem is a head coach named Lovie

Mcgahee and Rice behind Mclain and over Oher and Grubbs in the jumbo package in the freezing cold and 15 mph sustained winds, all day long baby....AWWW yeahhhh...

This stinks. Now the GOOD game (Packers-Steelers) will be preempted. At least the NFL could have the decency to push GB-Pitt up to noon so people could elect to watch the teams with a genuine chance of being in the playoffs.

What were the Bears thinking not leaving till late Friday night. Just shows how poorly run an organization they have become. Morons. The NFL should fine them a couple mil if they can't make it by Sunday and next year they should be one of the teams to lose a home game to London....if the Tampa Bay Bucs can figure it out you'd think the Bears could. The bucs left Friday morning to fly to Seattle. I doubt its snowing there.

Several years ago The Bills had to take a LONG bus ride home from Cleveland. Start the Greyhounds baby.

afternoon, dark, cloudy, not only a loss but an ugly loss as cutler throws yet more "homers in the gloamin". can anyone say 5 interception?

Jason DuPree on December 19, 2009 8:18 AM

Any chance the Bears could snowed in for the upcoming next 2 weeks? Who can we pay off to assure that happens?

Jay Mariotti's stepchild on December 19, 2009 8:03 AM

Ooohhh..look at that...another genius still referring to the Ravens as murderers...oh, and who is unprepared? Bears stuck on the tarmac for 2 hours before cancelling flight because BWI is closed...not like they didnt know it was coming. Good luck making it in time for the game, morons

Does anyone still care about Da Bears?

Beerman Cold Beer, there is this thing called time zones... never mind, over your head.

Don't worry about missing the Cincy-San Diego game. Although I'm not sure what the score will be, San Diego will win handedly, and both will win their divisions, so it really doesn't matter that much anyway.

Go Cubs Go- The snow is suppossed to be more than Chicago has ever gotten at one time (23.0 inches Jan 26-27, 1967). So you lose a few hours later. Big deal.

The games has been moved to 4:15PM EST NOT 3:15pm!

Screw the weather - REAL men play football OUTSIDE.

Anybody can tell you that - and it's FUN too.

Nancy Legosi on December 18, 2009 9:18 PM

Good. We get to see the Bears lose....just in a 3 hour delayed format. BAL 30, CHI 3

This blows. I realize that Baltimore is wholly unprepared for a snowstorm of this magnitude, but I was REALLY looking forward to watching Packers-Steelers from the comfort of my own home. I say leave Packers-Steelers on FOX the way it should be and relegate Bears-Ravens to WCIU or something like that for any masochists who are planning on watching it anyhow.

Hope it is still snowing at 3:15, nothing cooler than a football game in a snowstorm.

Johnny Sorehand on December 18, 2009 6:09 PM

I'm assuming a Bear game on Fox at 3 means the Cincy-San Diego game on CBS will be blacked out in Chicago. That game was going to make Sunday whole. Sum Beach!

Terrible. I won't be able to watch the Packers at Steelers at home now.

To Czechm8: Dude, don't be a D@uche. Yeah so you got a good team and our team kinda S#cks this year, so what? In a coupla years you'll be in our shoes and we'll be in yours. In the meantime get a life you sports obsessed loser. It's just a game.

How would you handle a 20" snow in Chi-town, NFL Midgets of the Midway? This way more of us Ravens fans will be there to watch the Purple and Black cream your team's sorry asses.
Duh, Bears!

Grow a set Baltimore. I guess I shouldn't expect much from a city and team that still celebrates a murderer. Football has become a sport of pansies....and now even the fans are becoming pansies.

It could be worse....this could be the Lions game and Lovie "Pookie" Smith could be getting a 3 hour reprieve.

Seriously, I'm going to be really ticked if this causes the Cincy/SD game to be blacked out. I've been looking forward to that game for weeks.

Chicago "loses" GB @ Pitt and "gains"

Atlanta @ NY Jets
Dick Stockton, Trent Green or
Arizona @ Detroit
Sam Rosen, Tim Ryan or
San Francisco @ Philadelphia
Kenny Albert, Daryl Johnston, Tony Siragusa

What real games will we get on TV? I guess that means they black out Cincy and SD. Maybe the Bears will be snowed out. We can hope

can they blackout road games? please!!!! lol

Do they have to draw this out even further? Let's get as done as quickly as possible so the McCaskeys can get on to the important business of firing Lovie.

Seedy Backslash on December 18, 2009 2:58 PM
