Bears' long snapper Mannelly fined by NFL

The least likely man on the field to draw a fine has caught the attention of the NFL.

Long snapper Pat Mannelly acknowledged that he got one of the FedEx letters in his locker that no one wants to see, one containing a fine notice from the league. Mannelly would not reveal the amount that will be taken out of his paycheck.

He was fined for the unnecessary roughness penalty he received in the second quarter of Sunday's loss to the Green Bay Packers. He was on the ground following an extra point that brought the Bears within 13-7 and replays showed he might have kicked a Packer.
Replays also showed that at least one Packer, maybe Johnny Jolly, could have been involved in some fineable behavior. The NFL does not typically announce fines until Friday afternoon.

Earlier today tackle Chris Williams said he had been fined, as well.

Stay tuned for the actual amount of Mannelly's fine and whether or not the league dipped into the wallets of any others.
