Will Notre Dame be without TE Kyle Rudolph vs. Pittsburgh?

One name was very conspicuously absent from the latest Notre Dame depth chart released late Monday: tight end Kyle Rudolph.

Rudolph, who suffered what appeared to be a shoulder injury in the Navy loss last weekend, does not appear anywhere on the Irish two-deep. Mike Ragone is listed as the starter at tight end and Bobby Burger is the backup as Notre Dame prepares to visit No. 8 Pittsburgh on Saturday.

Irish coach Charlie Weis said Sunday that X-rays on Rudolph were negative, ruling out a broken collarbone, but Weis added that the sophomore did leave the locker room with his arm in a sling. Weis should update Rudolph's status at his usual Tuesday press conference.

Rudolph ranks second on the Irish with 33 catches, going for 364 yards and three touchdowns.

Not all the tea-leaf reading was deflating, though. Guard Trevor Robinson and tailback Armando Allen -- both of whom sat out the Navy game with ankle issues -- are listed as starters at their respective positions.
