Kris Versteeg was a scratch for the Blackhawks as they took on the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night at the United Center.

Versteeg missed Saturday's practice and coach Joel Quenneville said the second-year winger and center John Madden were "resting" for tonight's game. That's some rest as Versteeg, who has four goals and eight assists, missed his first game of the season. Madden is playing.

Forward Andrew Ebbett was also a scratch. Bryan Bickell was recalled from Rockford of the AHL earlier Friday.

Plenty of No. 27 Hawks sweaters as the team is honoring former great Jeremy Roenick before the game.
