Tuscola wins Class 1A football title

CHAMPAIGN -- Phillip Meyer scored from 10 yards out with 4:47 left to give Tuscola a 14-7 victory over Lexington in the Class 1A state football championship at Memorial Stadium. Meyer alternated with Jud Wienke at quarterback.

This is Tuscola's second state title. Its other came in 2006.
