Golf slam-dunks basketball on Obama's agenda

obamagolf.JPGThe Wall Street Journal reports: President Obama, who played frequent and well-publicized games of basketball while on the campaign trail, has forsaken hoops and turned his sporting passion to golf.

Obama has played only seven known games of basketball since taking office, compared with 25 rounds of golf, which he began playing about a decade ago when he was an Illinois state senator. White House aides said golf gets the president outdoors more, but declined further comment on why he appears to favor golf over basketball. His score is a matter of "national security," said political adviser David Axelrod, but the president is said to have a golf handicap in the mid-20s (weak to average), and a cramped swing.
