A paperwork delay prevented Northwestern from announcing its signing of Georgia standout JerShon Cobb ... until now. Cobb, rated as the nation's 90th-best prospect by Rivals.com, is a combo guard listed at 6-5 and 175 pounds.
He selected Northwestern over a host of big names: Cincinnati, Ole Miss, Clemson, Alabama and Florida.
"JerShon will be a welcome addition to our program," NU coach Carmody said in a statement. "With his versatility and ability to score, I think JerShon is capable of stepping in and helping us right away. He is a highly ranked recruit who comes from a region that produces some of the top basketball talent in the country."
Cobb was a first-team Class AAA all-state selection in the state of Georgia after averaging 17.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 5.1 assists per game last season as a junior.
