The game was nothing short of a thriller. And the result had to thrill Northwestern fans.

The Wildcats capped off one of the their best two-day stretches in recent memory by beating Iowa State 67-65 to win the Chicago Invitational Challenge. They beat Notre Dame by 14 points Friday night.

Jeremy Nash made four clutch free throws down the stretch Saturday at the UIC Pavilion. Iowa State's Lucca Staiger nailed a 3-pointer with 1.5 seconds left to cut NU's lead to 67-65.

After Alex Marcotullio missed a free throw, Iowa State's Craig Brackins fired a desperation heave that came up well short.

John Shurna led Northwestern with 23 points. Michael "Juice" Thompson added 16 as the Wildcats improved to 5-1.

Shurna was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Player.
