No. 15 DePaul women lost its leading scorer and its first game to local rival Northwestern in 10 years as the host Wildcats claimed a 59-55 victory.
DePaul guard Deirdre Naughton (17.5 points) crumpled to the floor with an apparent right knee injury with 9:15 remaining in the first half and did not return.
Guard Beth Marshall scored 14 points for 4-0 Northwestern, off to its best start since 1995-96.
The loss snapped DePaul's 36-game winning streak against Illinois rivals, a run dating back to 2002.
