Loyola University to practice at Fenger High School

Fenger High School, which has drawn troubling national attention for acts of violence among its student body, will be the practice venue for the Loyola University men's basketball team on Thursday.

The Ramblers have a workout planned from 3:30-4:30 p.m. as part of a Loyola outreach program. Following practice, Loyola players and coaches will speak to the Fenger basketball team about the importance of education. A Fenger student was murdered near the school this fall.

Loyola, which opens up its 2009-10 season at Kansas State Nov. 13, is coming off a 92-62 victory over Robert Morris, the No. 1 ranked team in NAIA, on Monday. Freshman Ben Averkamp tallied 23 points and nine rebounds to lead the Ramblers in that contest.
