Bears center Olin Kreutz sat out today's practice because of a back injury, the second time he has missed practice this week.

Coach Lovie Smith said afterward that he expects Kreutz to play Sunday against the Philaelphia Eagles at Soldier Field.

Kreutz was sidelined for Monday's abbreviated session and said then that he was just resting. He played the entire game last Thursday at San Francisco.

Tight end Desmond Clark (neck) and safety Kevin Payne (back) also did not practice today.

Safety Al Afalava (shoulder) and defensive tackle Tommie Harris (knee) were limited, while running back Garrett Wolfe (lacerated kidney) is out for Sunday's game against the Eagles.
The Eagles are without running back Brian Westbrook (concussion) and receiver Kevin Curtis (knee). Safety Quintin Demps (ankle), safety Macho Harris (eye) and linebacker Akeem Jordan (knee) did not practice today, while cornerback Sheldon Brown (hamstring) was limited.

With Kreutz out, Josh Beekman was expected to be at center during practice with Frank Omiyale at left guard. Beekman is expected to remain as the starter over Omiyale at left guard Sunday against the Eagles, as Omiyale acknowledged during today's open locker room.

Defensive lineman Joe Clermond was back at practice, meaning he was re-signed to the practice squad after the Lions snatched cornerback DeAngelo Smith off the Bears' practice squad.

I don't know why its happening, but Kreutz is getting injured again and again. Hope this doesn't happen in the future.
