Illinois trails 42-23 heading into fourth quarter at Cincinnati

CINCINNATI -- Illinois has given up the most points of the season after just three quarters, trailing

No. 5 Cincinnati 42-23.

The Illini were outscored 7-3 in the third quarter. They settled for a 30-yard field goal by Derek Dimke after taking over at the Cincinnati 12-yard line following a fumbled punt recovery by Cordale Scott.

Tony Pike threw his fifth touchdown pass of the game on a 10-yard pass Armon Binns.

Two Illinois running backs left the game with injuries. Mikel Leshoure injured his right ankle in the third quarter and Jason Ford hurt his left arm late in the second quarter.
