MINNEAPOLIS - Going for its second straight victory and first road victory of the season, Illinois will try to employ the same recipe against Minnesota that it used in beating Michigan last Saturday.

The Illini has shown strong second half performances lately, but against Minnesota - a team that racked up 505 total yards a week ago against Michigan State - the Illini can't start off lagging at sunny TCF Bank Stadium field.

The Illini scored first for the third straight game when quarterback Juice Williams connected with tight end Jeff Cumberland for a 22-yard touchdown to cap an 80-yard drive for a 7-0 lead.

Cumberland, who typically plays as a wide receiver, started at tight end for the second straight game. He filled in for injured tight ends Michael Hoomanawanui (ankle) and Hubie Graham (back).

Chris Duvalt filled in at receiver for A.J. Jenkins (knee), who also sat out.
