CHAMPAIGN - Wofford had already defeated Georgia and came close to beating Pittsburgh, and now the Illini know how those two school felt.
After trailing much of the first half, Illinois took a 42-39 halftime lead on Wofford thanks to a last-second 3-pointer from Demetri McCamey.
At one point, Wofford led 26-18, but the Illini came back thanks to the hot shooting of freshman D.J. Richardson, who has four first-half 3-pointers. Richardson and McCamey each have 12 points to lead the Illini.
