The Chicago Sun-Times reports: Johnsburg's C.J. Fiedorowicz told Illinois coach Ron Zook on Wednesday that he plans to enroll at Iowa instead of Illinois, where he committed last July.
Fiedorowicz, the top-rated tight end in the nation according to analyst Tom Lemming, said he opted to switch because he was impressed with how Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz uses tight ends in his offense.
"Illinois doesn't throw to the tight end, maybe 10 times all year," Fiedorowicz said. "But it is an important part of Iowa's system."

NU beat the crap out of Iowa?? Pretty sure NU only beat Iowa by 7.
N.U. doesn't belong in the Big Ten? What have you been smokin'?
NU has no business in the Big-10? On what basis? Oh, probably because NU smokes the Illini routinely, and that's just not fair. Waaaaa.
Illinois is going to lose out on a bunch of good recruits because of their abysmal performance this year - THAT comes with the territory. With the talent amassed on Illinois, it is shameful they did not perform - that's coaching and recruits can see that.
p.s. I don't care to see Notre Dame be in the Big Ten. I would like to see the Big Ten either go back to 10 teams by dropping Northwestern (who has no business being in Big10) or expanding with quality teams from LARGER schools like Missouri, Kentucky, Pittsburgh and Cincinnati (no Northwestern and NO Notre Dame!) That would be a great league! Notre Dame and Northwestern can go join the Horizon league, much more suitable for them.
Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Indiana, Purdue, Kentucky in one division
Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Cincinnati, Penn State and Pittsburgh in another.
smart move!!! Zook needs to rethink he entire recruiting philosphy..he can't land any of the big time local kids..look at Goebel and others he missed out on
This just the beginning of top rated recruits electing not to come to Illinois. Now we have a coach that not only can't coach, but now he won't be able to recruit, but we'll keep him anyway!
