In the Wake of the News
Brian Urlacher must feel left out.
All his defensive teammates were contributing Sunday to the slow demise of this Bears season, so he must have felt compelled to do his part. And Urlacher's comments to Michael Silver of Yahoo! Sports serve little purpose other than contribute to the team's problems more than the solution.
Compelling, yes. Constructive, not so much.
A team captain should know better.
That makes this mini-controversy more disappointing than surprising. Urlacher always has been a Pro Bowl-caliber linebacker who was considered an even better teammate. His honesty Sunday only will cloud that perception.

Maybe the great mouth can explain the poor play of the defense for the past three years. Oh, it must be Brian's fault.
I wish all the whiner would get off Culter's back. Isn't it enough that he's expected to carry the whole team. Something overpaid Urlacher has not done in years. Long before this sad season began, people who know football said this team needed professional recievers and drastic changes to the offensive line. What do we get, under sized running backs, over paid and over the hill rejects from other teams, and a coaching staff that still has no idea what the game is about. Like a failed defense coordinator, who is still on the staff.
I think about a comment made during the third week of games when the network mouth stated how much that team hated how they had to WORK, but were now happy with the results. Or as someone hinted on The Score, we need coaches, not father images.
WRONG HAUGH! SOMEONE NEEDED TO SAY IT! LOVIE WONT DO IT OBVIOUSLY!
The Bears are imploding now. Papa Bear wept.
Hell all -- Jay again --
Does anyone out there think that I will make the Pro Bowl for the 2009-2010 season? If a fluke happens and I do NOT make it am I still considered a Pro Bowl quarterback.
I have realized that my ego has been damaged just a little bit this season so my solace is hearing "Jay Cuntler, Pro Bowl quarterback." It is like morphine to my ego and brain (not Brian).
Go Bears! I am loving the "The deal calls for Cuntler to be paid $20 million in guaranteed money and $30 million in new money for 2012 and 2013."
Woooohooo!
Marshall for Brian? Now thats a deal worth investigating....
Marshall, a union deal not withstanding, who will be a free agent being traded for the heart and soul of our team opposed to just picking him up in free agency. This sounds like a deal we would make.
I suck!
Brian is right.. its simple, Bears 4-7.. to the Broncos 7-4..... The bears should trade Brian to denver, so he could be with his buddy K.O. trade him for marshall.. so cry baby QB, can have his Baby T.O. back... what do think chicago?
He's right - why can't Matt Forte stretch out on that screen for an extra yard and get the first down? why does he go down the second he is touched by one defender in the flat? I have seen just about every running back be able to work a single defender for a lousy extra yard? its preposterous and someone needs to call Forte out!
Even with the lousy line, the porous defense and limited wide-outs, this team could easily be sitting at 7-4, easily! Jay Cutler is 100% responsible for that. He has lost us at least 3 - 4 games. Would we be having these discussions if the Bears were 7-4 or 8-3? Brian has an obligation to bring this up and to challenge his teammates, even publicly if necessary. Jay needs to be better, alot better. I still can't believe this franchise was gutted for this guy, un-freakin-believeable.
he is speaking the truth david! how can it get any worse than it is now
