CHARLESTON, Ill. -- Leroy Nobles scored 24 points Wednesday night as IUPUI held off Eastern Illinois 69-66.

T.J. Marion's jumper gave Eastern Illinois (1-1) its last lead at 43-41 with 16:26 remaining. IUPUI regained the edge and swelled it to 12 on Nobles' 3-pointer with 9:33 left.

The Panthers (1-1) chipped away and had a chance to tie, but Tyler Laser's 3-pointer bounced off the rim as time expired.  Laser and Shaun Pratl finished with 14 points each for EIU.
