Donovan McNabb can feel Jay Cutler's pain.

The Philadelphia Eagles' future Hall of Fame quarterback consoled Cutler on the field after the Bears' 24-20 loss Sunday at Soldier Field.

"I talked to him a little bit. What we talked about, we try to keep it between us two," said McNabb, who completed 23 of 32 passes for 244 yards and two touchdowns.

"But it's kind of the fraternity of quarterbacks. I have been through, obviously, different situations, some of them the same situations that he is going through right now. But I just continue to provide confidence for him."

Cutler completed 24 of 43 passes for only 171 yards and one TD. He was intercepted on the Bears' last possession.

"I let him know that he is not the only one to go through (adversity)," McNabb said. "Everybody has been through a situation where you have been struggling a little bit. But he can bounce back out of it."

The Bears always suck. It is a place where QB's go to die.

I like Donovan McNabb and am glad to see another Mt. Carmel alum making it big. What he did at the end of the game last night showed a lot of class. Jay Cutler may have just wanted to get off the field at that point, but hopefully what McNabb said to him will resonate.

Why does McNabb wear that silly looking rubber hat?

and you're sooo right South Sider -- we SS'ders have been proud of Donovan for years! Doesn't matter black or white....that's why we love our Sox! ;)

Thank God!!! I was a little worried about the remarks I'd find on this page as I was just reading about the shooper attack and the racist comments on the board, good to know that my theory of football lovers are like dog lovers, we just LOVE!......anyhoo! I thought that was totally classy on McNabb's part! Jay Culter is an awesome quarterback and will show it in time! The problem is NOT with Jay (or even most of the line) it's the play calling!! time for Ron Turner to go!

Love you guys!!! :)

All of us South Siders have been proud of Donovan for years, black or white, going back to his days commuting to 63rd and Dante, the friendly confines of Mount Carmel. He is a credit to his family and to his outstanding midwestern stock which shows compassion and sportsmanship after the heat of battle. Well done, Donovan...keep up the great human being work!

Yeah I have to give it up to McNabb. Best of all we can be proud that he's from here.

mcnabb is definitely a stand up dude.

Great for Donovan. His speech on "the Fraternity" was worthy of a politician and yet seemingly heartfelt. I would like to call the attention to all concerned however, to the censure of comments by the Tribune on all comments of a "Breaking News" nature. If they choose to be a propaganda vehicle, we must abandon them alltogether, not just at the newsstand.

gotta agree "hommie" nice move by McNabb. class act quarterback. If Cutler gets some confidence he'll kick but. He's got the talent.

classy move by donovan. dont know if jay paid any attention, but classy nonetheless. that made me a mcnabb fan.
