CHAMPAIGN -- Halftime at Class 1A state football championship. Lexington and Tuscola 7-7.

Lexington running back T.J. Stinde broke free for a 55-yard touchdown to give the Minutemen a 7-0 lead with 5:30 left in first quarter at Memorial Stadium. The score gives Stinde, the state's record holder for yards in a season, the single-season rushing touchdown record (46).

Tuscola didn't get a first down until 4:30 in the second quarter and had three turnovers in the first half.

Tuscola's Gunnar Edwards had two interceptions in the end zone to stop Lexington threats.

Tuscola quarterback Jud Wienke's brother is a quarterback at Iowa. Wienke broke his collarbone before the season and appeared briefly in one game before the championship.

Wienke found Pat Yoakum for a 36-yard TD pass with 1:12 left in the half to make it 7-7.
