Staff report
If you have two Bears fans sitting together, they would have more than enough fingers and toes to count each and every one of Matt Forte's yards Sunday against the Cardinals, with enough fingers and toes left to count each and every one of the Cardinals' seven scores.
So what about the just-released Larry Johnson, formerly of the Chiefs? He's a Penn State kid (don't hold Curtis Enis against him) and is on the market. He's not without controversy and might not be much better than the Forte-Peterson-Wolfe triumvirate. Just saying.
Figure Bears coach Lovie Smith will field questions about Johnson at his news conference at 2:30 p.m. Monday. We'll be back with his response soon after.

we need lj the line cant block and 22 isnt a power back like lj. asking cutler to do it alone is unfair its ruining our season
They should go out and get LJ because the O-Line is bad. He is a bruising back and can grind out yards when the O-line can't open up holes. Forte is a cut back runner as evidenced last season. He see cut back lanes well, but with the porous line play there are no cut back lanes. They need a powerback to compliment Forte.
Well overlooking the reports of bigotry and homophobia.. What possible good can Johnson do for this team?? We need an OFFENSIVE LINE, not a running back who is offensive.
stay away from LJ... stay far far away
check out the analysis for the bears thursday nighter @

The bears need a RB like LJ.
He is a bruiser and the bears need a RB to get the tough yards.
Say no to LJ. His skill has declined precipitously, and he is a creep, to boot.
sorry so long people... but i had alot on my mind
THE BEARS ARE NOT GOING TO GET HIM BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT GOING TO BRING IN ANYONE THAT IS GOING TO CHALLENGE FORTE FOR HIS STARTING SPOT... EVEN THOUGH THAT WOULD BE A GOOD IDEA TO GET HIM.. RIGHT NOW I AM LOOKING FOWARD TO THE OFF SEASON NOT SAYING I AM GIVING UP ON THE BEARS BUT WE GOT JAY CUTLER WHEN ALL THE GOOD FREE AGENTS WAS GONE SO NOW THAT WE GOT A QUARTER BACK NOW WE CAN GO GET THE PIECES THAT WE NEED TO GET BETTER AND I THINK WE SHOULD START WITH THE COACHING STAFF... I LOVE LOVIE BUT I DONT THINK HE IS TOUGH ENOUGH FOR THIS FOOTBALL TEAM... I THINK THE ONY COACH WE SHOULD KEEP IS ROD MARENELLI AS OUR D-LINE COACH AND FOR THE MANAGEMENT WE GOTTA START BRINGING IN COMPETETION AT EVERY POSITION NO MATTER IF THEY ARE OLD OR NOT EXAMPLE:(DARREN SHARPER) AND THEY GOTTA REALIZE THAT OUR CORNERS ARE NOT AS GOOD AS U THINK THEY ARE. AND FOR OUR DEFENSIVE COORD WE NEED TO BRING IN SOMEONE WHO IS NOT JUST GOING TO SIT IN A COVER 2 DEFENSE ALL GAME AND TAKE SOME CHANCES WITH BLITZES BRING PESSURE AND TO SAVE THE BEST FOR LAST A OFFENSIVE COORDINATOR... FIRST OFF MATT FORTE HAD A GOOD SEASON LAST YEAR SO TELL ME WHY IN THE HELL WOULD U TAKE A YOUNG JOSH BEEKMAN OUT OF THE LINEUP THAT PLAYED GOOD LAST YEAR TO BRING IN SOMEONE WHO PLAYED GOOD ALL OF FIVE GAMES LAST YEAR AND PAY HIM GOOD MONEY AND NOW THAT HE GOT PUT BACK IN THE LINEUP YALL ON RUSH FORTE 5 TIMES IN THE ARIZONA GAME AND HE WAS AVG 6.6 YPR AND THEN BRING IN CUTLER AND U DONT USE HIS STRONG ARM HE BEEN THROWING MAJORITY SHORT PASSES..COME ON BEARS LETS GET IT TOGETHER...
I believe it would be a good move he is definately a change of pace and after being released could come cheap. Could sometimes line up with Forte for a different look that needs to be defensively gameplanned for.
Not unless he can play on the defensive line or middle linebacker.
before making new running back acquisition like Larry Johnson, why doesn't Lovie work on fixing the front line which is NOT opening many runnign lanes.
Cedric Beson could't run either until he left the Bears.
