Cary-Grove leads Providence in Class 6A

CHAMPAIGN -- Cary-Grove leads Providence 14-10 in Class 6A football final at Memorial Stadium.

Eric Chandler's 2-yard run with 5:44 left in the second quarter gave the Trojans the lead.

Cary-Grove quarterback Tyler Krebs scored from a yard out with 3:30 left in the first quarter to give Cary-Grove a 7-3 lead. Krebs went 15 yards to the 1 on a fourth-and-4 just before scoring.

Alec Pickett's 38-yard field goal with 8:28 left in the first put Providence ahead 3-0.
