Boxer's services to be held Monday, Tuesday

Services for Francisco "Paco" Rodriguez, a popular Chicago boxer who died of from injuries during a title fight Nov. 20 in Philadelphia, will be held Monday and Tuesday, his family announced.

Visitation services will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 7750 W. Cermak Rd., in Forest Park.

Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Grace Church, 2446 N. Ridgeway Ave., in Chicago.

Mr. Rodriguez, a former national Golden Gloves champion known as "Kid Aztec," was especially prominent in the Mexican-American community.

After Rodriguez's death, his family donated his organs to five recipients, including a relative who needs a kidney transplant.

Survivors include his wife and 5-month-old daughter.

Donations to ease the family's medical expenses can be made to the Francisco Rodriguez Estate at any Chase Bank.
