DENVER -- Playing for the second time in 24 hours, the Blackhawks played a much stronger game in the sequel but still couldn't come away with a win as they fell 4-3 in a shootout to the Colorado Avalanche on Friday night at the Pepsi Center.

Colorado's Craig Anderson out-dueled Hawks goaltender Antti Niemi in the shootout to pick up the victory.

The Hawks were playing the second of back-to-back games after losing 3-1 to the Coyotes in Phoenix on Thursday night.
