Bears running back Garrett Wolfe hospitalized

Bears running back Garrett Wolfe is in Northwestern Memorial Hospital recovering from a kidney injury, according to a source close to the player.

Wolfe said he is feeling good but his hospitalization is precautionary, according to the source. He injured himself on the opening kickoff of Sunday's 41-21 loss to the Cardinals but remained in the game through the half. Apparently, there were traces of blood in his urine at halftime.

The Bears initially called it a back injury.

The Bears are continuing to monitor his situation, but right now Wolfe isn't expected to miss the remainder of the season. Right now, it looks like a 2-to-4 week.

The Bears recently played with just two running backs when Adrian Peterson sat out with a knee injury.

Take care Garrett...football is now; your health is forever!

He wasn't too small when he ran for 171 yards against the #1 Ohio State team in 2006. Not to mention the other 114 receiving that game.

Garrett Wolfe is a great football player PERIOD. He might be smaller than the typical NFL running back, but can take a hit with the best of them. He plays hard on every down and has blazing speed. For a running back to be your gunner on special teams and fly down the field throwing himself with reckless abandon at the kick returner is amazing. If Ron Turner could stop having brain farts and get Wolfe the ball in the flat, Wolfe would be able to show off his amazing speed to beat the defense to the corner and turn up field chewing up tons of yards like he did at NIU.

Message to Ron Turner: STOP TRYING TO RUN WOLFE OFF TACKLE ON EVERY DOWN!!

Garrett have a speedy recovery.

Forte has lost a step. Too many hits last year and he did get hurt end of last year and beggining of training camp. I'd say we'd better bring in someone quick. Just who? became available. Can we get him before he's awarded to someone else? Why didn't we seek trade if so? LJ? Seriously.

Look, I have nothing against Garrett Wolfe. He is a good play but, the man is too small to play in the NFL. A player who is primarily a running back at what...185 pounds is going to get hurt. It dosen't matter if he is on special teams or the starting offense.

Additonally, when the Bears have inept offensive coordinators such as Ron Turner, good players such as Garrett Wolfe get injured. Ron Turner is the weak link in the entire Chicago Bears coaching staff. He needs to get fired.

Garrett Wolfe competes with great intensity on kickoffs and I wondered if he might get injured in a collision.

DagoT .. DNR, good one !!!

the whole team needs a trip to the mayo clinic for a heart transplant; tommie harris is a DNR( do not resuscitate)
