Staff report
Morning, Bears fans. Did you have the same dream we did last night? Total nightmare. Five interceptions, six points, seven games to go.
That wasn't a dream?
There is some good news to be had in the next three days: The Bears are off. Sure, they were plenty off Thursday night in San Francisco. But the next three days of no media and fan reminders of What Might Have Been-2009 Edition means the Bears can also escape a Sunday without losing -- or playing the Browns.
If Rick Morrissey and David Haugh are right, the lights went out on the Bears -- and that means the Franchise, Sid Cutler, just got a little scarier.
Even scarier than those five picks. Said Cutler: "We saw everything coming. They didn't have any surprises for us." So what's worse? That he saw it coming and didn't do anything about it -- or couldn't do anything about it?
Cutler now has 17 interceptions, the leader by a mile-high. Or, in movie terms, NC-17: No chance-17, not safe for children.
Is it too late to give Kyle Orton the key to Cutler's city? You're right, they already did that.
The worst part of all of this losing through 5/16ths of the season as the Bears have gone 1-4: Steve Rosenbloom gave up "Project Runway" to watch that stuff. You go girl.
One other kernel of news: When the Bears travel to Minnesota at the end of the month, kickoff will come three hours later, at 3:15, so Fox can show a bigger audience what Brett Favre does to that defense.
So happy Friday, Bears fans. The NFL ain't coming back to these parts for a long, long time.
You can watch Tom Brady vs. Peyton Manning on Sunday. Now are you ready for some football? That's it. Buck up, champ. Let's go get 'em.

How many good players can Lovie and crew turn in to mediocre/crappy players????? The McCaskey's have to get off their asses, open up the purse and spend some money on coaches that can coach and a GM that can manage. Our draft picks and free agency activity have sucked for years (since before Lovie even). Ron Turner has to be one of the worst offensive coordinators in the NFL. The Bears have a history of losing since the 70's - it's something more than just the players and coaches.
Chuck, that was the year before the super bowl. The year grossman lost to the panthers.
Lovie and Angelo are tied at the hip in putting this team together. They must go. All new scouts and personnel dept. bring in proven winners for GM and head coach. I wont buy so much as a Bears key chain until this happens. BOYCOTT.
It was Orton who took us to the superbowl. They went with Grossman at the very end.
I'm wondering about the night blindness. If that's the case, there are some things that can help.
Cutler is nothing more than a highly paid Grossman- hmmmmmm seems to me Grossman got the Bears to the Super Bowl- what about the coaches? They need to get in some players faces like Singletary does. This is by far the worst team I have ever seen. And Cutler is all about Cutler not the team
