Ten years to the day he died, Walter Payton was honored by the Bears with a ceremony at halftime of Sunday's game.
The crowd roared during a video tribute that showed highlights of his career and included praise from Mike Ditka and owner Virginia McCaskey, along with former teammates such as Otis Wilson and Richard Dent. Besides dodging and leaping over defenders, Payton was also known for his work ethic and his tendency to pull pranks.
When the tribute was over, his wife Connie asked the crowd, "Wasn't that awesome?"
Flanked by their son Jarrett and daughter Brittney, Connie Payton ended her brief speech by saying, "We love you. And one more thing: Go Bears!"

Does anyone know where to buy the shirt Jarrett is wearing?
How in the world did they place Walter Payton 8th on the all time greatest NFL football players is beyond me ... Jerry Rice is ranked the 2nd best player behind Jimmy Brown and to me it should have been Walter .. Rice was a great receiver but if he had played on a team with some of the Bears Quaterbacks other then Jim McMahon no one might never of heard of him .. Walter was the Bears offence....Look up who the Bears had when he first came up ..They were not loaded with many weapons just number 34 and defences keyed on him and still couldn't stop him .. Great Player too bad only Bear fans know it...
Greatest football player of all time in Chicago.
a woman seated near me was recording it with a small video camera...security told her to stop recording and scolded her for bringing a video camera into the stadium...best part was he asked, "how'd you get that in here?"
Is yesterday's video tribute available ANYWHERE??? I have contacted a Chi radio station, they said contact the Bears. I did. I'll go check YouTube, SOMEONE in the crowd had to have a camera phone.
