Bears right tackle Chris Williams today was fined $5,000 by the NFL after being flagged for unnecessary roughness against the San Francisco 49ers last Thursday night.
Williams was assessed the penalty in the fourth quarter, one of the 10 flags the Bears picked up in the game for a total of 75 yards. He jumped late into a pile.
Williams said he plans to appeal the fine.
Three 49ers players each were fined $5,000 for their actions in the game. Wide receiver Arnaz Battle was fined for a major facemask, cornerback Tarell Brown was docked for unsportsmanlike conduct (taunting) and tight end Delanie Walker was cited for unnecessary roughness (kicking an opponent).

That is some inspirational stuff. Never knew that opinions could be this varied. Thanks for all the enthusiasm to offer such helpful information here.
I saw the play for which he got fined. He should have been flagged for unnecesary dumbness and fined for double the amount.
Is this a joke, Roger Goodell? CW may be the softest tackle in the league. Holy Irony, Batman!
