Ball State wasted little time exploiting Northern Illinois' vaunted defense Thursday night at Huskie Stadium.

The Cardinals (1-8) marched 78 yards in just four plays on their opening drive to take a 7-0 lead. Eric Williams capped the drive with a 5-yard touchdown run. The drive included runs of 24 yards by Cory Sykes and 52 yards by MiQuale Lewis.
