Bears starting strong safety Al Afalava, who missed last Thursday's game at San Francisco because of a right-shoulder bruise, returned to practice today as the Bears started preparation for their game Sunday night against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Left tackle Orlando Pace also practiced coming off a concussion sustained against the 49ers. Cornerback Zack Bowman (abdomen) was in practice gear, too.
Tight end Desmond Clark (neck) and safety Kevin Payne (back) watched from the sidelines while still recovering from their injuries. Center Olin Kreutz appeared to have the day off.
Running back Garrett Wolfe, who was hospitalized three days after jamming his kidney, was not on the practice field even as an observer.
